For the second year, the Carroll Symphony Orchestra’s Christmas with the CSO show will tie a ribbon around the Carrollton Center for the Arts’ Christmas season with two nights of seasonal classics, December 19 – 20.
“What a treat to have the CSO perform their Christmas concert at the Danny Mabry Theatre,” said Carrollton Arts Superintendent Tim Chapman. “This concert will be the icing on the cake of this holiday season.“
Christmas with the CSO features holiday favorites and has become something of a tradition in Carrollton, selling out every year. In addition to classics by Handel and Tchaikovsky, this year’s program will include “Sleigh Ride,” by Leroy Anderson, the similarly-titled piece, “The Sleigh Ride,” by Mozart and music from the motion picture, The Polar Express. The show will feature a choir of more than 100 singers, including choral students from the Carrollton Youth Chorus, Carrollton Junior High School and Central Middle School. CSO Conductor Terry Lowry will play patrons’ requests on the piano.
